Drummers who can sing always amaze me, and Mike remains one of the best around his harmonies are always spot on, and his lead vocals on "Seventeen" did not disappoint! And what can I say about Rachael? She is one of my favorite vocalists on the planet, with a rich contralto that demonstrates her extensive jazz training, and a magnetism that effortlessly draws in the entire audience. From Rhodes to synth, Akie's keyboards often drive the arrangements, and his fabulous vocals shine, especially on his "Same Old News" duet with Rachael. James' guitar has been a welcome addition in the last year, and his licks varied from tasty to blistering. All in all, it was a wonderful evening in a beautiful venue with outstanding music! Who could ask for more? Seattle, WA Paramount TheatreĪs always, Lake Street Dive put on a fabulous show! Their musicianship was on full display. I mean, what other indie/pop band has an upright bass?!? Her playing ranges from subtle, syncopated jazz to thumping rock, her tone is impeccable, and her solos are always crowd favorites. And, finally, Bridget, whose flawless harmonies fill out the top end, but whose unbelievable bass playing is probably the most unique feature of Lake Street Dive. As always, Lake Street Dive put on a fabulous show! Their musicianship was on full display.
